This talk gives a brief overview of some of Google's core technologies, which are used to provide information services to the world. It will cover Google's use of free software, as well as some internal software components: the Google File System (storage infrastructure), MapReduce (technology for reliable distributed computations), and BigTable (distributed structured data storage).
The talk will also mention how Google supports the free software community through hosting services, and by funding free software projects in the Summer of Code program.
