This talk explains what OpenID is, and what it can do for you. We'll demonstrate OpenID in a live demo using an hardware authentication token from Yubico for improved security. OpenID is an open architecture for web-based user authentication. One of its advantages are that it will help you as a web designer to avoid the hassles of maintaining your own username/password database, with the associated security problems that brings. The advantage for you as user is that you can reduce the number of username/password combinations that you will have to remember. The presentation will focus on the usability advantages, and only touches on other OpenID features and the cryptographic underpinnings.
